About four years ago I cajoled Joe Lstiburek into participating in a design charette for Habitat for Humanity in Chicago. In Joe's inimitable way, he suggested that the Habitat house have one common soffit for warm air supply and return air.
I liked the idea so much that we incorporated it into the air distribution system in HomeTown.
Here's how it works: _____________________________________.Do our energy systems work? In the first full winter of operation last winter on about 40 homes, we had not one complaint about heat distribution or comfort or heating cost - not one! In the first full summer of operation this summer on about 80 homes, we had not one complaint about air conditioning - not one!
