New Daycare Center a Big Convenience for Home...
For Release: 5/4/2007 11:43:14 AM
What could be more convenient than dropping kids at daycare without first getting in the car? HomeTown Aurora residents now have just such an opportunity since Hometown Child Care opened recently.
Owner Joy Macarus said the facility is the perfect compliment for the neighborhood focus of the community development.
"The beautiful thing is that since many of the children attending daycare here will be from HomeTown, they will know each other," she said. "They play together everyday already. And it's nice for parents because if they are running late, they can ask another parent, that they know well, to pick up their child and watch them for a bit."
The facility is located in the heart of the development in the quaint arcade of shops and businesses called the Town Center.
Macarus, said she decided to open the center because she saw the need.
"I saw that Perry (Bigelow Homes CEO Perry Bigelow) was looking for someone to open a childcare center at HomeTown," Macarus said. "This is the perfect spot, with the beautiful park across the way, and O.C. Allen Elementary School so close. We can actually walk to the school and pick the children up at the end of the day."
Macarus, a successful businessperson, and her daughter Lisa Nolan, the center's director, who has a degree in psychology, both live in HomeTown Aurora. In fact, Nolan's two children are the first two enrollees.
The facility's slogan, "We are Your Neighbors," reflects the strong community feel of HomeTown Aurora that Macarus wants to expand to the daycare center.
The center will also take advantage of the child-friendly atmosphere at HomeTown Aurora, which includes several beautiful, interactive parks and an outdoor environment made safe by traffic-calmed streets.
Macarus will maintain an open-door policy at the center - parents are encouraged to visit at any time. She also has comprehensive learning programs in place.
The center, open for children from 6 months to 12 years of age, will also focus on altruism by sponsoring disadvantaged children and teaching the joy of giving through its unique Starfish program.
Registration has already started and anyone who signs up before May 31 will receive a $100 rebate after the first three paid months. The center will be open to non-HomeTown residents as well.
Macarus and her daughter encourage parents to drop by the center, take a tour, and meet the staff. For more information, call either (630) 898-4663 or (630) 362-1608.

The new daycare center is just one of many convenient features of HomeTown Aurora.
The development is within three miles of Fox Valley Shopping Center, Oakhurst Forest Preserve, Phillips Park Golf Course, Phillips Park Zoo, and the Eola Community Center, which includes a public library. The East-West Tollway and mass transportation are 10 minutes or less away.
The 2-5 bedroom, 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 bath homes with 918 to 2,437 square feet all have attached garages. Loft homes, which are currently under construction, will surround the Town Center. Starting in the low $200s, these 2-3 bedroom, 2-3 bath homes have an urban flair and features found in much higher-priced homes such as finished concrete floors, gourmet kitchens with granite island countertops, upgraded appliances, 10-foot ceilings, 3-sided gas fireplaces, exposed ductwork, curved walls, and other clever architectural features.
